Career Advancement

Have you ever wondered why you're not getting the promotion you deserve? Do you struggle with how to even ask for more responsibility or recognition? And if you're in a management position, just how well are you doing? Do you wrestle with how to manage people different than you-take Generation Xers, for example? Or do people simply not do what you want? How well do you handle touchy situations?

As you move up in the organization, others will look to you to set good examples. They will expect you to guide them, inspire them and help them focus on the right issues.

And if you think you're supposed to have all the answers, you've got a problem. You're not only sending the wrong message, but you're not using your people wisely.

Your boss will also be watching closely to see how you handle a leadership role. How well you handle disagreements. To learn more about how to master these issues and others as you develop in your career, see the articles I've compiled in the column on the left side of this page.

I'm always adding news articles so check back frequently!
