Job Hunting

"Ruthless recruiters "
Beware of jumping ship just because someone offers you more money. The job may pay more but offer less satisfaction, take you off your career track or be with a nasty management. Especially be on the lookout for ruthless recruiters who are popping up in unexpected places to lure you away.

Some are vultures, says The Herman Group, stopping at nothing to bring home their prizes. Computer company recruiters position themselves in competitors' parking lots. Hospital recruiters call department extensions on the floor of competing hospitals offering to pay whoever answers the phone 20% more. Others offer retail employees doing a good job a position on the spot with the employee following the recruiter out the door. Hospitality recruiters hand out business cards to hotel and restaurant staff.
