To become a licensed practical nurse, you'd need to complete
a state-approved practical nursing program and pass a licensing
exam. The programs take about one year and include supervised
clinical practice and classroom work. For more information,
write the National Association for Practical Nurse Education
and Service, Inc., 1400 Spring St., Suite 310, Silver Spring,
MD 20910.
Registered nurses graduate from accredited nursing schools
and pass a national licensing exam. Your education includes
supervised training in hospitals and other health facilities.
For information on both programs write the National League
for Nursing, 350 Hudson St., New York, NY 10014.
